Michael O'Brien
Michael O'Brien, CPFO, is administrative services director for the City of San Dimas, California. He started his CPFO journey to deepen his understanding of best practices and enhance financial transparency for residents. Throughout the program, he learned valuable lessons on reporting standards and public engagement, which he's applied to improve the city's financial processes and align spending with community needs. The CPFO program also helped fill gaps in his knowledge, especially around debt issuance and reporting, and inspired him to create stronger documentation and policies.
